    I am physician scientist, who is interested in the role of cancer stem cells (CSCs) in tumorigenesis and chemotherapy resistance in pediatric sarcomas. I have conducted several studies aimed to characterize CSCs in pediatric bone tumors. For the past 5 years, I have been a member of the Osteosarcoma Research Program and the Musculoskeletal Tumor Clinic at Texas Children’s Cancer Center. I have successfully developed a patient derived tumor xenograft mouse model for pediatric sarcomas using tumor specimens obtained from patients treated in our institution.
    As a clinician, I’m also interested in the evaluation and prevention of the cardiotoxic effects caused by chemotherapy
