    I am a physician-scientist and a medical educator in pediatrics. My research focuses in the development of patient-derived tumor xenografts of pediatric cancers, particularly sarcomas. My research has been supported by the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas and several private foundations. I have served as reviewer in many journals and grant review panels.
    I am also interested in studying the deleterious cardiovascular effects of cancer therapy in pediatric patients. I am currently the Co-Director of the Cardio-oncology Program at Texas Children's Hospital. I have several publications and invited presentations related to this topic.
    My interest in medical education includes developing enduring education materials and promoting self-reflection as a tool for professional growth in trainees and faculty. I am member of the PREP Hematology/Oncology Editorial Board of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Academy of Distinguished Educators at Baylor College of Medicine.
