• Cellular and antibody immune responsiveness
• HLA antibodiesDr. Ronald H. Kerman directs a clinical transplant immunology laboratory. Research interests are focused on determining the strength of transplant patient cellular and antibody immune responsiveness as it relates to immunologic rejection and graft loss. Studies are underway to determine the identity of HLA and non-HLA clinically relevant antibodies and their role in graft rejection. In addition, studies are being conducted to determine the immune response of patients receiving allogeneic stem cell infusions.
Dr. Kerman's bibliography currently includes 360 abstracts and presentations and nearly 200 published works, including 22 book chapters. Dr. Kerman held positions at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and the Stritch School of Medicine in Loyola University in Chicago before coming to Baylor College of Medicine in 1977 when the transplantation center opened. Immunology has flourished since Dr. Kerman first became interested in the specialty in 1964. The comprehensive range of services and quality of performance offered by the transplantation service place it among the world's top transplant immunology facilities.Professor Emeritusprns:coAuthorOfcoauthor ofFaculty Rankprns:fullNamefull nameprns:hasAuthorListauthor listprns:hasFacultyRankhas faculty rankprns:hasNetworkhas networkprns:hasPublicationVenuepublished inprns:informationResourceReferenceinformation resource referenceprns:isPrimaryPositionis primary positionprns:latitudelatitudeprns:longitudelongitudeprns:mainImagephotoprns:maxWeightmaximum weightprns:medlineTAjournal title abbreviationprns:meshDescriptorUIMeSH DescriptorUIprns:meshSemanticGroupNameMeSH semantic group nameprns:minWeightminimum weightprns:numberOfAuthorsnumber of authorsprns:numberOfConnectionsnumber of connectionsprns:numberOfPublicationsnumber of publicationsprns:personIdPerson IDprns:personInPrimaryPositionperson in primary positionprns:physicalNeighborOfphysical neighborprns:positionInDepartmentposition in departmentprns:positionInDivisionposition in divisionprns:predicateNodepredicate nodeprns:publicationDatepublication dateprns:similarTosimilar toprns:sortOrdersort orderprns:uniquenessWeightuniqueness weightprns:yearyearAcademic ArticleArticleDocumentbibo:pmidPubMed IdentifierAddressvivo:address1address line 1vivo:addressCitycityvivo:addressPostalCodepostal codevivo:addressStatestate or provincevivo:authorInAuthorshipselected publicationsvivo:authorRankauthor rank in publicationAuthorshipDepartmentDivisionvivo:freetextKeywordkeywordsvivo:hasResearchArearesearch areasvivo:hrJobTitleHR job titleInformation Resourcevivo:linkedAuthorlinked authorvivo:linkedInformationResourcelinked information resourcevivo:mailingAddressmailing addressvivo:overviewoverviewvivo:personInPositionpositionsPositionvivo:positionInOrganizationposition in organizationvivo:preferredTitlepreferred titlerdf:predicatepredicaterdf:typetyperdfs:labellabelConceptAgentfoaf:firstNamefirst namefoaf:lastNamelast nameOrganizationPersonAuthorship 783234Authorship 81012Authorship 831412Authorship 833911Authorship 84002Authorship 840641Authorship 851139Authorship 881491Authorship 872107Authorship 899382Authorship 88931Authorship 896909Authorship 904905Authorship 945823Authorship 925591Authorship 952798Authorship 956104Authorship 972181Authorship 998736Authorship 1012611Authorship 1026891Authorship 1032424Authorship 1035937Authorship 1054203Authorship 1111354Authorship 1114859Authorship 1130092Authorship 1187836Authorship 119051Authorship 1196461Authorship 1213252Authorship 1223724Authorship 192351Authorship 216782Authorship 258394Authorship 323772Authorship 358097Stem Cell TransplantationMD AndersonRICHARD ECHAMPLINRICHARD E CHAMPLIN8508CHAMPLIN, RICHARD EProfessorSTEFAN OCTAVIANCIUREASTEFAN OCTAVIAN CIUREA9422CIUREA, STEFAN OCTAVIANAssociate ProfessorAuthorship 482803Authorship 5735Authorship 632611Authorship 724641Authorship 807022Authorship 817681Authorship 831721Authorship 857479Authorship 92331Authorship 93791Authorship 937903Authorship 940825Authorship 951091Authorship 96412Authorship 965712815251Lewis R, Kerr N, Van Buren C, Lowry P, Sandler C, Frazier OH, Powers P, Herson J, Corriere J, Kerman RTransplantationComparative evaluation of urographic contrast media, inulin, and 99mTc-DTPA clearance methods for determination of glomerular filtration rate in clinical transplantation.
