    Dr. Robin Jacobs is Associate Professor and Director of Faculty Development for the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Dr. Jacobs has served as a Principal Investigator, co-investigator, and statistical analyst with extensive experience in developing or being part of the development and implementation of a number of supported and non-supported studies, including several NIH- and CDC-funded research projects (i.e., R01, R56, R21) and Adolescent Trials Network of HIV/AIDS Intervention (ATN) involving technology-driven behavioral interventions addressing health literacy, chronic disease self-management, and HIV primary and secondary prevention. She holds a PhD in Social Welfare, Master of Social Work, Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics, and a Master of Public Health.

    Dr. Jacobs has taught graduate courses such as Program Evaluation for Health Information Technology, Grant Writing for Biomedical Informatics, Research Methods, and Health Informatics Practicum in addition to seminars on database development and management in the health sciences. In addition to teaching online and in the traditional classroom setting, she has mentored post-doc and pre-doctoral research fellowship awardees in both medicine and pharmacy.

    With her diverse background in both research and education, Dr. Jacobs works to foster professional growth for our Faculty. She contributes to the Department’s research mission as a well-published scholar and successful grant writer with over 200 pieces of work either published or presented nationally and internationally involving interdisciplinary teams, integrating qualitative and quantitative methods with a focus on a wide variety of behavioral health topics to alleviate health disparities among under-represented populations.
