    Collapse overview
Clinical training in pediatric cardiology and critical care medicine has driven an investigative focus towards the prevention and management of cardiac arrest in children with congenital heart disease (CHD). As the population of pediatric patients at highest risk for cardiac arrest, children with CHD have unique risk factors for cardiovascular derangements that separates them from the adult population. Ongoing work to delineate these risk factors will enable early identification of patients at risk for cardiac arrest, while providing important insight into the pathophysiologic impairments that make this population of patients unique. In addition, advancements in extracorporeal mechanical circulatory support have demonstrated improvements in survival and neurologic outcomes for patients failing conventional cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). I seek to leverage epidemiologic studies of pediatric cardiac arrest with advancements high-resolution physiologic data capture and resuscitation techniques to create CHD-specific guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation that will improve outcomes in this high-risk population.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
