Mary Rocha, MD, MPH is nationally recognized medical education scholar with an interest in assessment methods and how learning occurs during the period of transition from medical school to internship. She is a graduate of various advanced courses in medical education research and is an expert in validation methods. She routinely leads peer-reviewed national faculty development workshops on medical education research methods.
Dr. Rocha and colleagues received a Medical Education Scholarship Award from the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) for a workshop about the learning environment. She is a past recipient of two educational grants and a professional development leadership award from the BCM Department of Pediatrics and she is the recipient of 2 Fulbright and Jaworski awards from BCM.
Dr. Rocha has served in various educational leadership roles at BCM including Director of the Pediatric SubInternship and Interim/Associate Director of the Pediatric Clerkship. Nationally, she serves in educational scholarship leadership roles for the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Academic Pediatric Association, and the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics.
