Dr. Saira Khaderi has research interest in liver transplant outcomes - specifically in patients transplanted with hepatitis C and hepatocellular carcinoma. She is also involved in Project ECHO ((Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) - a telementoring program whose aim is to improve medical resources in rural and under served communities in Texas.

Since she was an intern at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Dr. Saira Khaderi has developed a strong interest in hepatology and liver transplantation. During her residency, she was involved in research related to complications of portal hypertension, and in 2006 she was honored with the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases Travel Scholar Award – an award given to accomplished trainees with potential for a career in academic medicine. After completing her residency, she returned to Houston and continued working in transplant medicine at Methodist Hospital, where she was an active member of the liver and kidney transplant programs.

Dr. Khaderi began her Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in the summer of 2012. Her research regarding outcomes of patients transplanted with portopulmonary hypertension has been presented at several major conferences, including the 48th Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) in Amsterdam and in the Digestive Disease Week (DDW) in Orlando. Her current research interests include hepatitis C, complications of portal hypertension, and liver transplant outcomes.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
